În acel moment, el purta cu el nu doar urmele unui trecut greu, ci și o inimă bună, plină de sensibilitate și dorința tăcută de a avea din nou încredere în oameni. Deși este un câine calm și cuminte, timiditatea l-a făcut la început să se retragă în sine, observând lumea cu o privire blândă și atentă, ca și cum ar fi sperat că, într-o zi, cineva îi va arăta că este în siguranță.
