Julia ID number: 1052190 Breed: Mixed Age: approx. 05/2020 Gender: female Shoulder height: approx. 66cm Castrated/Spayed: Yes Accommodation / Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry form Julia - from the street ready for her home Julia (*approx. 05/2020) was brought to the Triple A animal shelter in Marbella by employees of a nearby cement factory. An employee had taken care of her after her previous owner had left her in trouble on the street. She arrived scared, very quiet, extremely thin and in really poor condition. After about a week she quickly realized that it might not be so bad here after all. Her stomach is finally full, the helpers stroke her, brush her fur and she can joyfully dart through the bushes during her walks. But life in the animal shelter is certainly not what Julia wishes for the long term. After having wandered the streets for so long, she now dreams of a soft bed and above all of a completely own person. Julia loves massages and long walks. When off-lead, she suddenly turns into a playful puppy! When you meet her for the first time, you might think she is very calm and shy, but that would be a big mistake. She is lively, playful, cheerful and absolutely ready to run past you in the park if you can't keep up with her. Julia now actively asks us to play. During breaks she lovingly presses her face into our hands or searches our pockets to see if we have treats. She loves doing small exercises and is absolutely ready to learn. It is noticeable that no deep bond was formed with her in her previous life. She can amuse herself very well and the close contact with humans is not yet her first instinct. But she feels and enjoys the connection to our helpers more and more each day. It almost seems as if she is surprised when a person calls her and invites her to do something together. We have not directly tested Julia with other dogs yet, but she passes by companions outside completely peacefully and makes absolutely no fuss. Therefore, we believe that she could certainly live with another dog. Right now, Julia is still a bit thin, but she has already gained enormous strength and energy and is now wonderfully mobile and active. Who will give this great dog the love and affection she deserves so much? Julia is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and has an EU pet passport. For export, she has been tested for Mediterranean diseases as well as dewormed and treated for fleas. Vaccinations Yes Mediterranean check Yes Microchip Yes Diseases None known Disability No Service dog No Protection fee 500 € including transport Contact person Larissa Spörl Phone: Email: Inquiry form

About Julia

What life with Julia looks like

Julia is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Julia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Julia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Julia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Julia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Julia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Julia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Julia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
