Asterix and Jussi are two black kittens, about 1-2 years old, who have shared a home. Jussi, the golden-eyed one (on the left), is very food-motivated and dares to come close to people to eat and play, once he gets used to them a bit. Asterix (on the right) is green-eyed and much more cautious than his friend, but he can also be enticed to take treats from your hand. Both boys have unique white markings on their bellies, so they are not completely black. The boys get along well together, and they fight when there are no people around. The boys come from a population and are used to being with other cats, but they have spent many months together in the shelter and have become attached to each other, even though they don't seem like a typical pair of best friends. Both have had a history of stomach problems, but their stomachs have been stabilized through diet. Asterix is also more sensitive to stress, which has led to mild urinary problems. However, the boy has not needed medication, as a stress-free environment, good food and proper hydration have kept the symptoms under control. Jussi is the more affectionate and bold of the two, and is especially fond of food. Both dare to play with people once the initial tension passes. It is advisable to supervise their play with toys, or give them only durable toys, as they may tear their toys into pieces and in the worst case swallow parts of them. So, these little rascals definitely have plenty of energy! Jussi has also been easy to handle, as the kitten is submissive and allows care whenever needed without resistance. Asterix is a bit more irritable, but has been manageable when the cat's face is covered with a cloth. Despite their wild background, neither is particularly difficult, even though they don't purr either. Maybe a loving, kind home where the needs of the cats are understood could, over time, help them understand the meaning of petting? Asterix ja Jussi ovat kaksi mustaa poikakissaa, iältään n. 1-2 vuotiaita, jotka ehtivät yhteistä kotia. Keltasilmäinen Jussi (vasemmalla) on hyvin ruokamotivoitunut ja uskaltaa tulla ihmisen lähelle ruokailemaan ja leikkimäänkin, kun vähän ehtii tutustua. Asterix (oikealla) taas on vihreäsilmäinen ja huomattavasti kaveriaan varovaisempi, mutta yhtälailla hänetkin saa houkuteltua kädestä ottamaan herkkuja. Molemmilla pojilla on myös vatsapuolella yksilölliset, valkoiset laikut, joten ihan kokomustia kaverukset eivät ole. Pojat ovat keskenään hyvää pataa, ja touhuavat keskenään silloin, kun ihmisiä ei ole paikalla.
