Kadir

Male · Young · 2 years

Origin Country: Hungary The beautiful Kadir was found wandering alone in the city of Tápiószentmárton on October 22, 2025, and reported to the shelter. Fortunately, he was easily captured and brought to the animal shelter. During the microchip check, they unfortunately came up empty, and no one had reported Kadir as missing. As always, it’s unclear to us, but for Kadir, it’s likely a second chance at a happy life where he is loved and cherished. Kadir is a great guy, friendly, well-mannered, and agile, sometimes a bit stormy with joy. He needs physical and mental stimulation and wants to be challenged and nurtured so he can develop into a great and loyal companion. Of course, he would have a lot of fun with sporting activities like running, hiking, and anything that makes humans and dogs happy, and which uncover new talents within him. Naturally, his temperament and willingness to learn should be guided in the right direction, and the basic dog training lessons must still be lovingly, but consistently taught to him. For Kadir, the mentor program on Saturdays is a highlight, where he joyfully participates. His mentors have already been convinced by his cheerful nature. Kadir gets along well with his fellow animals and is currently (December 10, 2025) living with Hugi-4 in a shared home, which works out well. For our wonderful sunbeam Kadir, we are looking for loving, sporty, and adventure-loving people who can give Kadir a varied and exciting life. Full family integration, dog training classes, long walks, sporting activities, play and fun, enough quiet phases, clear leadership, lots of cuddles, and much love would make Kadir very happy. Kadir brings a lot of joy and action into his new home. On December 24, 2025, a voluntary, Hungarian helper wrote: "Kadír came into the care of the animal shelter at the end of October 2025. On the mentor day, he was taken for a walk by his mentors, and we got to know him on the shelter’s own playground. Kadír is a sweet, loving, affectionate, and very people-oriented dog. He loves being close to people and wishes for a lot of mental stimulation and affection. He eagerly accepts cuddles and pampering moments. He is active, enthusiastic, playful, and full of energy. Curious and interested, he enjoys walks, movement, playing around, and thorough sniffing. A larger garden, daily walks, and playful mental stimulation are particularly important in his new home. Kadír would love to learn, gather new experiences, and could also imagine attending a dog training class. He is looking for people who have an active lifestyle and like to spend time with him. The time in the kennel is currently very hard for him. Kadír lives with several other dogs in a kennel and gets along well with them. He would have no problem with an already existing dog. He is leash-friendly." Who will go through thick and thin with Kadir? Kadir is ready for travel.

DE·Show original

About Kadir

What life with Kadir looks like

Kadir is a large young adult dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kadir, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kadir?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kadir on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kadir if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kadir already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kadir isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kadir and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
