Kai

Male · Young · 1 year

Date of admission: 23. 10. 2025 Entry number: 112/2025 Gender: tomcat Born: August 2025, red, vaccinated, neutered, FIV and FeLV negative Kai was found with his sister Gerdou in Meziříček, where they came to one house. There were three of them, unfortunately one kitten died tragically when it got over the fence to a hunting dog. At the request of the finder, we took the remaining siblings to our shelter so they would not end up the same way. Kai is a small, magical boy. Very kind and friendly, no fear, although certainly not as brave as his sister. He likes everything that belongs to a happy cat life: a full bowl, a comfortable bed, lots of cuddling and playing. He would like to find a great family where he will be loved. Only as a house cat, in an apartment or house, with secured windows/balcony so nothing happens to him. With his sister or at least another cat friend, as an only child he will not be happy.

Rád by našel prima rodinu, kde bude milován. Pouze jako domácí, v bytě či domě, se zasíťovanými okny/balkonem aby se mu nic nestalo. Se sestřičkou nebo aspoň k jinému kočičího kamarádovi, jako jedináček nebude šťastný.

About Kai

What life with Kai looks like

Kai is a young adult cat waiting at Mikes HB in Havlíčkův Brod.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇨🇿Adopting from Czech Republic

Czech shelters (útulky) include sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID. The adopter signs a written contract (smlouva) — the shelter may follow up to verify wellbeing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kai, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kai?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Mikes HB handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kai on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kai if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Mikes HB will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kai already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kai isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Mikes HB early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kai and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (CS). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
