Kali

Border Collie · Female · Adult · 6 years

Kali is a gorgeous 6-year-old Border Terrier cross Jack Russell with a sweet, affectionate side that really shines once she starts to settle. She’s friendly with her foster carers and especially enjoys being close to them, often following them around to keep an eye on what’s going on. Her favourite place to properly relax is curled up on the sofa for cuddles, where she can finally switch off and fall into a deep, cosy sleep. Kali loves getting out for walks and is happiest on routes with plenty of grass and good sniffing opportunities. She can be a little enthusiastic at the start of a walk, but she enjoys exploring and has shown she can calmly notice the world around her. She will greet people with a waggy tail, and is curious about the world and wildlife around her. She knows how to “sit” and “paw”, and treats are the way to her heart, which will be helpful for continuing her confidence-building and training. At home, Kali is still finding her feet and needs time to build confidence, particularly around unfamiliar noises. She is improving gradually each day and will need kind, patient adopters who can help her continue to feel safe and settled at her own pace. Kali can live with primary school-aged children and would prefer to be the only pet in the home, so she can relax and enjoy all the attention for herself. She would love her own garden with direct access, where she can potter, sniff, and enjoy some peaceful outdoor time. If you’re looking for a cuddly little companion who loves walks, sofa snuggles and slowly blossoming into her brave self, Kali could be the perfect match. About Kali

What life with Kali looks like

Kali is a adult border collie dog waiting at Dogs Trust Dundee in Dundee.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kali, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kali?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Dundee handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kali on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kali if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Dundee will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kali already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kali isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Dundee early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kali and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
