Kalina

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

Origin Country: Hungary Kalina is this wonderful female dog. Kalina had a lot of luck, as she was found on the street in Felsöcsalanos on September 28, 2025, and reported to the Menhely. It’s unimaginable what could have happened to her. Whether someone left her there fearfully or whether she wandered to this dangerous place on her own, we don’t know. What we do know is that Kalina was not microchipped and no one had reported her as missing. Kalina is still very thin and needs to gain more weight. Kalina now waits patiently and longingly for her life to turn positive and for her to find loving people who will give her a wonderful “forever home.” Kalina is a loving and sweet female dog who, at first, was a bit shy and insecure but is now gaining more confidence and becoming increasingly curious. She gratefully accepts every attention and affection. Her greatest wish is to be loved, to receive much care and security, to have a safe, soft place to sleep, and loving people who will unconditionally love her and to whom she can give her heart. Kalina also still has some school to attend, and her people should take pleasure in gently teaching her everything she still doesn’t know. Walking on the leash is something she already does quite well, but it’s certainly still in need of improvement. She would be delighted with proper doggy exertion and many wonderful, shared experiences with her two-leggeds. Kalina has no problems with her fellow animals and is currently (October 30, 2025) being integrated into a mixed pack. For our beloved Kalina, we are searching for loving and patient dog lovers who can finally show her the sunny side of life. Understanding people who can make up for what she missed and show her how it feels to have a caring home, her own food bowl, a soft bed, and loving people who will spoil her with many cuddles, exciting walks, and full family integration. Kalina brings a lot of love into her new home. Who will accompany Kalina through life? On November 26, 2025, a voluntary, Hungarian helper writes: "Kalina came into the care of the animal shelter at the end of September 2025. She arrived timidly and participated in a socialization training. On the mentor day, we got to know her at the playground of the animal shelter. Kalina is people-oriented, loving, and heartwarming. On the playground, she actively sought the closeness of the mentors and asked for cuddles and affection. She now fully trusts the people and no longer fears them. She likes to give kisses, is affectionate, and friendly. She lives together with several other dogs in a pen. In her profile, it states that she can be slightly dominant, but this is well-manageable. She can be led on the leash without problems." Kalina is ready for travel. This animal can be anxious in unfamiliar situations.

About Kalina

What life with Kalina looks like

Kalina is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kalina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kalina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kalina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kalina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kalina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kalina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kalina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
