adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Karla has found her home! Her story: The sweet Dachshund-mix girl Karla is currently waiting in Baia Mare for a new life with loving people who want to open their hearts to her and offer her an exciting Dachshund life. Unfortunately, we know nothing about Carla's past, where she came from, and what she has experienced so far, but it seems that nothing too bad has happened, because the sweet mouse is a happy, friendly, and playful little dog girl who naturally won't stay in the shelter for long. Here it's loud, overcrowded, and stinks! It's not for a small, delicate little Dachshund. That's why you, the fans of "sausage-dogs," are being sought! Take Karla home, she will turn your life upside down and put it back together again, and hopefully bring a lot of fun with her! Also, a loving foster home would be very welcome for the nice female dog. Karla is about three years old and has a proud size for a Dachshund lady, standing at around 30 cm shoulder height. With her short, black-brown marked fur and black button eyes, she is a very pretty, little female dog. She has a lively, friendly, and open nature and gets along well with fellow animals. The pretty Karla has the perfect age and a practical size that fits almost any household. However, consistent training is particularly important for a Dachshund, because the charm of such a pretty, little dog and the famous "Dachshund look" can easily captivate any dog lover. Due to her appearance, we cannot rule out an enhanced prey drive. Maybe Karla has never lived in a house and has never heard of house training and leash walking. Unfortunately, we don't know that. But if you show her with a lovingly consistent training style what rules an orderly house and family dog should follow, she will hopefully learn everything necessary quickly. We therefore recommend a visit to a positively working dog training class, regular training, long walks, and plenty of contact with fellow animals. Have you already fallen in love with the pretty, charming Karla? Then contact us. She can travel to her new home with an EU pet passport neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Karla will be named after the namingsaint Sabrina H., who gave the sweet Karla her name. As of: 06.02.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 06.02.2026

About Karla

What life with Karla looks like

Karla is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Karla, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Karla?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Karla on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Karla if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Karla already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Karla isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Karla and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
