Kasjusz

Mixed Breed · Female

Kasjusz arrived at our shelter in June. He presented himself as a frightened dog, afraid of people and any unexpected or unusual sound. Thanks to consistent, but also calm acclimation to reality, he is changing and blossoming step by step. With wise support based on encouragement, but not coercion, Kasjusz learned to walk on a leash and began to explore the world. During walks, he doesn’t pull, sniffs a lot, and is interested in everything around him, especially other dogs. He is social, seeking attention, and on the playfield, he eagerly runs wild with other dogs, both males and females. This allows us to believe that he could fit well into a family that already has another pet. We do our best to make the work that Kasjusz does as quickly as possible result in a new home with a loving family. We want him to be fully ready for this moment, so we are also acclimating him to the car, street traffic, the city, and entering rooms. First, the cats are behind the fences, so keep your fingers crossed.

PL·Show original

Kasjusz trafił do schroniska w czerwcu.

About Kasjusz

What life with Kasjusz looks like

Kasjusz is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kasjusz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kasjusz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kasjusz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kasjusz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kasjusz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kasjusz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kasjusz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
