Khole &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

At our friends from Puntanimals, a cheerful companion on large paws is on the move. The little gentleman in the tailcoat is named Khole, and his tailcoat will surely stay with him, but the adjective "little" will only hear from the 5-month-old (as of 08/24) mixed breed when he's out with ponies. Khole was found in a village near Huelva, where he wandered around alone, examined trash cans for food, and tried to find friends. Now, the lively male dog with floppy ears lives in the animal shelter of our friends and has regular meals and plenty of friends. Khole is likely a herding dog mix, so we would like experienced dog owners (or those who want to become one with the help of a breed-specific dog training class). Our gentle Spanish mastiff mixes have a loving and tender character, but also the mastiff stubbornness that tends to keep the humor of a young dog until the age of 15. Additionally, the mastiff is a born protector and sovereign in its behavior, making it a fantastic companion for the whole family and a great addition to any household not located in the city center. But a dog of this size with all these special and important character traits also brings responsibility. Now it seems likely that Khole's genes not only contain a mastiff but also a Labrador – and this extraordinary mix promises plenty of fun. Khole is an energetic and curious young dog, he is delighted when children come to visit, and he has so far also gotten along well with cats. He loves long walks, which at the moment are a bit more laid-back due to his enormous growth to protect his joints, plays with devotion, cuddles with heart, body, and soul, and simply wishes for a beautiful, loving, understanding, and active home … shouldn't we make that happen? Maybe you can help us?

About Khole &#8211

What life with Khole &#8211 looks like

Khole &#8211 is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Khole &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Khole &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Khole &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Khole &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Khole &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Khole &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Khole &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
