Kiara

Pit Bull Terrier · Unknown

Hey hey :-) My name is Kiara, I was born exactly on August 21, 2017 in a breeding in Tychy. I am a representative of a rather controversial breed American Pit Bull Terrier, which means I have a pedigree from the Serbian organization A.P.B.T. Register, one of the few that recognize my breed. For a long time I lived normally. I had my family, home and daily rituals. Then everything fell apart... Without any explanation I was given to strangers. Then it only got worse - stress, uncertainty, great loneliness and sadness. I was abandoned, like an unnecessary toy. On May 1, 2025 I came here, to Psitul - a place full of dogs, emotions, smells, but also good hearts. My new aunts rightly believe that my story should not have happened. The matter is already being handled by the appropriate authorities, because no creature deserves such treatment. Initially, everyone hoped that the matter would be clarified quickly, that someone would admit their mistake, come up with a sensible explanation, but it did not happen, so I am slowly looking for a new better life and a person who will never leave me again. Initially I was scared, disoriented and looked at new people distrustfully, but I quickly realized that nothing was threatening me. I love people, especially playing with them. Toys need to be chosen carefully for me, because I destroy them very quickly, so they need to be strong, and preferably intended for bull breeds, which as you know have amazing strength. The greatest fun is playing with a rope, it is one of the few activities that can tire me a bit. I am fast like lightning, very agile and bouncy, if something really interests me it is hard for me to pull myself away. I also love walks - with my nose to the ground, discovering every corner of the world. Unfortunately I don't like other dogs, I don't expect to be able to get along with any of them in the near future. I have been vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped, I have also had the spaying procedure.

Miałam swoją rodzinę, dom i codzienne rytuały. Uwielbiam ludzi, a szczególnie wspólną zabawę z nimi.

About Kiara

What life with Kiara looks like

Kiara is a adult pit bull terrier dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kiara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kiara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kiara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kiara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kiara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kiara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kiara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
