Adopt KIKA

German Shepherd · Female · Adult · 6 years

KIKA - seeks experienced home - female dog, 6 Y., born May 2020, 25 kg, neutered. - Waiting in Spain! NO DOG FOR BEGINNERS!!!! Kika was born in May 2020. Originally, she was supposed to spend her first years with a loving family, but from the start, her life looked different. Her story: Kika was rescued before she was run over on a street when she was still a small puppy. The family who took her in had to move to France and couldn't take her due to various circumstances. With this family, she lived together with children, a male dog, and a small cat, which she initially did not accept well. It seems like she made an exception with this cat. She probably will get used to living with cats, but at first, she runs after them. Her character: Kika is a female dog who is very proud: elegant, slender, and athletic. She understands and learns quickly, is very loving and cuddly but also respectful. She weighs 25 kg and is a large dog. She gets along well with other dogs and is gentle and careful in her interactions with children. She loves to go for walks and play games that stimulate her sense of smell, which is perfect for her. We wish so much that Kika finds a permanent family that loves her and accepts her as a family member. Adopting an animal means accepting the new family member and giving them lots of love. Veterinary aspects: Kika is tested negative for the following diseases: Ehrlichia, Leishmania, and Filaria. She has all her vaccinations, is dewormed, sterilized, and has an EU passport and a chip. IF YOU ARE THIS PERSON, write to us, and we will give you all the information. KIKA is in the care of the Spanish organization Refugio escuela Marlene in Sevilla. Includes (veterinary costs, transport, tracking) - Transport by land to Cologne or Karlsruhe. - Info and contact in Spanish: Jessica - email: - or - Contact in German: Fabienne Albessard - email: - Translation help - I grant data access to all - animal welfare concerned - persons. Gladly also on Facebook.

KIKA - sucht erfahrenes Zuhause - Hündin, 6 J., geb. Mai 2020, 25 kg, kastriert. - Wartet in Spanien ! Verein Refugio escuela Marlene in Sevilla. Schutzgebühr 360 € beinhaltet (Tierarzt Kosten Transport Trace ) - Transport über Land bis Köln oder Karlsruhe. - Info u. About KIKA

What life with KIKA looks like

KIKA is a large adult german shepherd dog waiting at Tier-Not-Hilfe in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting KIKA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about KIKA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tier-Not-Hilfe handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw KIKA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt KIKA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tier-Not-Hilfe will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is KIKA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if KIKA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tier-Not-Hilfe early rather than rehoming privately; they know KIKA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
