Kittens van

European Shorthair · Unknown · Kitten · 3 months

Aimée, a sweetheart, is the most affectionate of the three and loves to be petted, purring contentedly. She adores people and attention, as well as playing, of course. When you come home, she greets you enthusiastically and likes to follow you around. She enjoys sleeping with you, preferably on a thick pillow like a princess on a pea. Chloe is secretly a male cat, but doesn't seem bothered by his name. He's a lovely boy who welcomes you when you enter and is very curious. He loves playing with strings (be careful of chargers), paper balls, fishing rods, and his brother and sister. While he may not have the patience for long cuddle sessions yet, he enjoys your company and follows you everywhere. Zoey is the smallest of the three but has made up for lost time. She plays with her brother and sister, but also likes to play alone with whatever she can find. Zoey isn't picky. She just needs a little lesson that toes aren't always fair game. She loves sleeping in bed between cuddles. New people are exciting, but she gets used to them quickly, and if you want to play, she forgets she doesn't know you yet. The order of the kittens matches the order of the photos.

NL·Show original

About Kittens van

What life with Kittens van looks like

Kittens van is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Dierentehuis Stevenshage Leiden in Leiden.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kittens van, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kittens van?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierentehuis Stevenshage Leiden handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kittens van on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kittens van if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierentehuis Stevenshage Leiden will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kittens van already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kittens van isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierentehuis Stevenshage Leiden early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kittens van and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
