Kłaczek

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Kłaczek is a young dog born in March 2025, medium-sized, currently weighing about 11 kg - although his figure suggests he should gain a bit more weight. He was brought to the animal shelter in bad condition - neglected, with fleas and underweight. Despite this, from the very beginning he showed how great and open a dog he is. He is a dog with an extremely calm temperament - very positively oriented towards the world, people and daily situations. He loves human contact, eagerly seeks closeness, likes petting and clearly enjoys the presence of the caregiver. At the same time he is compliant and gentle - a dog who shows no signs of aggression, one could even say that "he would not hurt a fly". Kłaczek is full of energy and life - a typical "wiggler", who has difficulty staying in one place for long. He likes movement, activity and spending time together. At the same time, he does well on walks - walks nicely on a leash, which indicates that he probably had previous contact with a home and basic training. He tolerates grooming procedures very well, which is a big plus, considering his previous condition. He gets along well with other dogs, but his attitude towards cats is unknown. Kłaczek is a picky eater - prefers wet food and can be finicky, so the future caregiver should be prepared to adjust the diet to his needs. He is rather quiet on a daily basis, has no tendency to excessive barking. He is a dog who does not like being alone - he will best find himself in a home where he will have a lot of contact with humans and will not be left alone for long hours. He will be an excellent companion dog for a person or family who wants to have a close, loyal companion. Kłaczek is an exceptionally cheerful, warm and sensitive dog who, despite a difficult start, has retained great trust in people. In a new home, he will surely repay love, energy and daily presence full of positive emotions. Kłaczek is vaccinated, dewormed, spayed, and neutered.

PL·Show original

Trafił do schroniska w złym stanie – zaniedbany, z kołtunami i wychudzony. Uwielbia kontakt z człowiekiem, chętnie szuka bliskości, lubi pieszczoty i wyraźnie czerpie radość z obecności opiekuna. Lubi ruch, aktywność i wspólne spędzanie czasu.

About Kłaczek

What life with Kłaczek looks like

Kłaczek is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) in Poland.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kłaczek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kłaczek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kłaczek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kłaczek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kłaczek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kłaczek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kłaczek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
