Adopt Klausz

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Origin Country: Hungary Klausz was brought to the animal shelter Kecskemét as a found dog on April 1, 2025. He was not microchipped, and no one was looking for him. Now that his quarantine period is over, he hopes for a second chance with a loving family. At first a bit shy, Klausz warms up quickly when given affection. He is friendly, people-oriented, child-friendly, and clingy – a dog who wants to be loved and to learn. Leash walking works well, and the rest of the dog ABC will be learned with joy. At the animal shelter, he is part of the mentor program, loves cuddles, and enjoys the closeness to his people. He gets along well with other dogs, especially female dogs, and can be rehomed as a second dog. At the animal shelter, he lives in a mixed pack. For Klausz, we wish for an active home with lots of affection, exercise, mental stimulation, and family connection. On May 14, 2025, a volunteer, Hungarian helper writes: "Klausz is an exceptionally loving, weathered, and friendly dog. Just as his caregiver led him on a leash to the playground, he ran to me and wouldn’t go any further. Even on the protected playground, he spends most of his time near the mentors, asking and waiting for cuddles and pampering. An extremely people-oriented, child-friendly, and clingy dog who is grateful for every moment with him, every kind word. He needs a lot of attention and care, but once he gets it, he is very happy and smiles. He lives with several other dogs in a run and they get along well. He can therefore also be rehomed as a second dog. He can walk on a leash." On December 19, 2025, a volunteer, Hungarian helper writes: "Klausz came into the care of the animal shelter in April 2025. He regularly participates in mentor days. During this time, Klausz and the mentors have become good friends. Klausz is a weathered, loving, friendly, people-oriented, and child-friendly dog. He loves being around people, being stroked, and pampered. Then he is really content and smiles. He is attentive, ready for action, and goal-oriented. On the playground, he always has something to do and wishes to have tasks for his new person as well. Mental stimulation and affection are very important for this love-seeking dog. He would love to go for walks with his person and family every day and also be happy about playful activities. The wait in the run is currently very hard for him. His need for movement and knowledge must be encouraged. He lives with several other dogs in a run and has a good relationship with them. He is leash walkable. Who will give Klausz his forever home? Klausz is ready to travel.

About Klausz

What life with Klausz looks like

Klausz is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Klausz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Klausz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Klausz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Klausz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Klausz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Klausz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Klausz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
