Klemens

Mixed Breed · Male

Klemens is a roughly 3–4-year-old dog of Border Collie type who came into our care in early July 2026. He arrived emaciated and somewhat frightened, but from the very first moments he showed that humans are important to him. In the shelter environment, where there are so many stimuli, it can be quite challenging for him. As soon as the gate to his kennel opens, Klemens dashes off, trying to find his way around all the new sights and sounds. However, he behaves completely differently during calm walks in the forest—there, he can relax, notice the person on the other end of the leash, and snuggle up against them wholeheartedly. Klemens is still learning how to manage his emotions. Occasionally, he may jump on people or pull harder on the leash toward an interesting passerby or another dog—but we believe these behaviors stem from an overload of sensations and the novelty of his current situation. With the right support and patience, he has a great chance of learning to function calmly by your side. Klemens is a gentle, people-oriented dog who needs someone to help him rediscover the world. For his family, Klemens could become a wonderful companion for long walks, shared activities, and daily cuddles.

PL·Show original

About Klemens

What life with Klemens looks like

Klemens is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Klemens, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Klemens?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Klemens on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Klemens if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Klemens already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Klemens isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Klemens and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
