Kodak

Border Collie · Male · Young · 1 year

Kodak is a young, joyful, affectionate, intelligent and sometimes mischievous dog. He enjoys the company of his humans while knowing how to be alone without difficulty. Clean and non-destructive, he proves pleasant to live with on a daily basis. Ideal environment and home: We are looking for a home for Kodak without children, as he can sometimes be a bit rough in his interactions. He will thrive with available people who are ready to offer him an active life, beautiful walks and many moments of complicity. Required experience: His future adopters must have good dog experience in order to accompany him kindly in the few situations that are still delicate for him. With a coherent framework and humans who listen to him, Kodak has everything he needs to continue to progress. Compatibility: Introductions with other dogs will need to be made under good conditions. When he likes a fellow dog, he creates very beautiful relationships. Special needs: Kodak requires no special care. However, he will need a lot of love, shared activities and an invested family that will offer him the attention, stability and adventures he dreams of. If you think you can give him the life he deserves, we would be happy to meet you! In case of interest, please fill out the online form "request - interest in adopting a dog". If the criteria explicitly required in the texts of the dogs' presentations are not respected, no follow-up will be given to the adoption request. Please also read our placement philosophy. About Kodak

What life with Kodak looks like

Kodak is a medium-sized young adult border collie dog waiting at SPA Fribourg in Font.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kodak, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kodak?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA Fribourg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kodak on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kodak if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA Fribourg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kodak already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kodak isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA Fribourg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kodak and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
