Adopt Koliber

Mixed Breed · Male

Koliber is a young, three-year-old dog who came to the shelter after an intervention by the animal shelter "Kocham Psisko". This is a dog with great potential, who initially seemed completely withdrawn, but every day proves how much he wants to trust people and enjoy his new life. His transformation at the shelter is extraordinary. The beginning on a leash was difficult - Koliber was spinning around his own axis and pushing with all four paws due to stress. However, recent walks are a real breakthrough: Koliber has started walking beautifully, and even city traffic and cars, although still causing him some slight embarrassment, no longer cause panic. Although touch is still something new for him that he must get used to, his curiosity about the world is slowly overcoming his fear. Koliber is also extremely friendly and sociable with other animals - he gets along perfectly with dogs, and shows a gentle interest in cats. We are looking for a home for Koliber, where he will be introduced to household rules without pressure or haste. He would fit perfectly in a family that already has other animals - their presence will surely give him more confidence. At home, Koliber is a trouble-free dog: he keeps the area clean, doesn't destroy anything, and behaves politely when left alone. We are sure that with a patient caregiver, this shy "bird" will quickly gain wings and become a loyal friend. — METRYCZKA — 🧮 Age: 02/2023 🚻 Sex: male 🐾 Size: 14.5 kg 🏀 Activity: moderate ❤️ neutering: yes ℹ️ Chip: yes 💉 Vaccinations: yes 📍 Location:

Szukamy Koliberowi domu, który bez presji i pośpiechu wprowadzi go w domowe zasady. About Koliber

What life with Koliber looks like

Koliber is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Koliber, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Koliber?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Koliber on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Koliber if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Koliber already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Koliber isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Koliber and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
