Adopt Lady

Bichon Frisé · Female · Adult · 6 years

09-05-26 Lady has come to us from a breeder and is now looking for her forever home. She is a sweet and gentle girl who is a little worried to find herself here, but she has been easy to handle and is already becoming a very inquisitive little girl! It's clear that she is trying so hard to be brave and really wants to come and say hello, so we don't think it will take her too long to come out of her shell in her new home. Lady is looking for a calm and quiet home where she can settle at her own pace and build her confidence. She absolutely loves other dogs and will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help guide and reassure her. She is currently kennelled with dogs of a similar size, but she also seems to enjoy meeting bigger dogs! We would also consider homing her with gentle dog savvy teenagers. Lady has never lived in a home before, so she will need patient and understanding adopters who can help her learn all about home life. She will need support with the basics such as house training, learning to walk on a lead, and discovering that the world isn’t such a scary place. With time, kindness and encouragement, we believe Lady will blossom into a wonderful companion. Lady is a truly sweet girl, and we can’t wait to see her thrive in a loving home. She has had one tooth extracted at the time of her spay. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Lady

What life with Lady looks like

Lady is a adult bichon frisé dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lady, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lady?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lady on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lady if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lady already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lady isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lady and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
