Lady

English Bulldog · Female · Young · 3 years

Meet this lovely friendly Lady! This gorgeous girl is always sociable with everyone she meets here at Battersea. She is generally a calm girlie but her excitable side really shines through when toys are involved, particularly if it is a squeaky one!! She would love a new family to call her own and play with to her heart’s content. With her amiable nature she could live with children from the ages of 8 and above. Lady finds other dogs very interesting and can be a bit intense and over the top at times so new owners will need to keep her on the lead in public spaces. Since being in our care she has made fantastic progress in learning how to manage her manners around other dogs. Any new owner would need to continue this training to help her build on the success she has already achieved. She does love a good walk and a sniff but would be happiest in quieter low dog populated area where she can explore without too many doggie distractions. A secure garden is a must for this lovely lady, giving her a safe space to enjoy off-lead play time, burn of some energy, and continue practising her house-training skills. If you're looking for a fun, loving companion who will reward your patience and commitment with endless love and loyalty, this wonderful girl could be the perfect match. About Lady

What life with Lady looks like

Lady is a medium-sized young adult english bulldog dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lady, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lady?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lady on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lady if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lady already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lady isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lady and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
