Little Lasko left so quickly that we all have trouble realizing. On Wednesday morning, he was immediately taken in, and that same evening, after several exams, the verdict came. Lasko suffered from hepatic encephalopathy. Everything was tried by the extraordinary team that took care of him, but the images showed multiple acquired shunts causing poisoning of his body. Little Lasko was in a coma. Thursday morning, the seizure had given way to epileptic seizures, with no molecule able to stop them. The only solution was to put him into a deeper sleep, but unfortunately, as soon as the anesthesia stopped, he convulsed again. There was no hope left. Lasko left in our arms, under our tears and kisses. You were a wonderful dog, little Koko, we loved you and are all devastated by your sudden passing. I never thought I would write such lines about you. Our only regret will be not having found a sufficiently patient family who could have given you a chance. There were some volunteers, who unfortunately were discouraged when they became aware of your fears. You needed patience, little Koko, the calm of a garden to be tamed. It didn't seem so complicated, but you seemed so terrified... Too small for some, too big for others, your appearance didn't help, even though to us you were the most beautiful and kindest of dogs. You were the son of Jasmine, the brother of Leïa, the uncle and nephew, what a family story... Today you are terribly missed by each of us, and we all find it terribly unfair that an 8-year-old dog could have such a condition. We loved you and were your human family, you are in our hearts forever.

Petit Lasko s’en est allé si rapidement que nous avons tous du mal à réaliser. Mercredi matin, il avait été immédiatement pris en charge, et le soir même, après plusieurs examens, le couperet était tombé. Lasko souffrait d’une encéphalose hépatique. Tout a été tenté par l’extraordinaire équipe qui l’a pris en charge, mais les images ont mis en évidence les multiples shunts acquis qui provoquaient l'empoisonnement de son organisme. Petit Lasko était dans le coma. Jeudi matin, la crise de tétanie avait laissé place à des crises d’épilepsie, sans qu’aucune molécule ne puisse les arrêter, la seule solution était de l’endormir encore plus profondément, malheureusement dès que l’anesthésie cessait il convulsait de nouveau. Aucun espoir n’était permis. Lasko s’en est allé dans nos bras, sous nos larmes et nos baisers. Tu as été un chien merveilleux petit Koko, nous t’avons aimé et sommes tous anéantis par ta brutale disparition. Jamais je n’ai pensé écrire de telles lignes à ton sujet. Notre seul regret sera de ne pas avoir trouvé une famille suffisamment patiente qui puisse t’avoir offert une chance. Il y a eu quelques volontaires, qui ont malheureusement été découragés quand ils ont pris conscience de tes craintes. Tu avais besoin de patience petit Koko, du calme d’un jardin pour t’apprivoiser, cela ne paraissait pourtant pas si compliqué, mais tu semblais tellement terrorisé… Trop petit pour les uns, trop grand pour les autres, ton physique n’a pas aidé, même si pour nous tu étais le plus beau et le plus gentil des toutous. Tu as été le fils de Jasmine, le frère de Leïa, le tonton et le neveu, quelle histoire de famille… Aujourd’hui tu manques terriblement à chacun d’entre nous et nous trouvons tous terriblement injuste qu’un loulou de 8 ans puisse avoir une telle pathologie. Nous t’avons aimé et avons été ta famille humaine, tu es dans notre cœur à tout jamais.
