Adopt Latte

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Hello, I'm Latte. I am a very cute, nice, curious and pleasant rabbit. When my caretakers walk by my hutch, I come right away. I am curious what will happen and I also like to get attention. If I get a stroke over my head, I immediately sit down calmly, hoping to get many more strokes. I can really enjoy that, so I am also looking for an owner who enjoys stroking me. A family with children is also suitable for me, as long as the children know how to handle rabbits. My wish list for my future home is: A companion to go through life with me. A good place with plenty of space to run around. And a very kind owner who gives me enough attention. Would you like to go on a date with me at the shelter, then email my caretakers. About Latte

What life with Latte looks like

Latte is a young adult mixed breed rabbit waiting at Dierenopvang Hengelo in Hengelo.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Latte, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Latte?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenopvang Hengelo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Latte on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Latte if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenopvang Hengelo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Latte already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Latte isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenopvang Hengelo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Latte and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
