adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Leonita has found a home! 44369 Dortmund. Leonita can travel to her foster home in mid-January! Her story: Fantanele, Romania. Leonita stands out with her beautiful fur pattern. Our little lioness is simply enchanting! Did she also steal your heart right away? Leonita was abandoned on the street with two other siblings. Unfortunately, one of the others was hit by a car and died, leaving only Leonita and Oana temporarily in a private foster home. Unfortunately, they couldn't stay there any longer and had to move into our private shelter. The girls are suffering there and we hope they will finally win their ticket to happiness. Leonita is ready to travel at around 9 months old and is already packed and ready. She will reach a medium to large size, currently standing at a shoulder height of around 49 cm and weighing 16 kg. Leonita's loyal gaze goes straight to the heart. She approaches people openly and shows a playful side. She is very clingy and loves being with people and dogs, and she doesn't say no to a cuddle session. She gets along well with all the other dogs and even cats so far. Leonita seems, at first glance, not to be a difficult dog. She is probably in the middle of puberty, where she tests her owners and their limits. She is looking for someone who stands by her during this hormone chaos and provides her with the necessary understanding and support so that she can grow into a great dog. Positive reinforcement training and loving consequences will help her get through this time well and emerge as a strong team. For Leonita would never deliberately annoy you. She often can't control her behavior during this tumultuous time and hopes that you will always stand behind her during this difficult time. Living children in the household should be older to properly understand their new companion. It's now time to find new friends in dog training classes and finally "learn something" – maybe with you? She is eager to learn the dog ABC and form new friendships. Leonita will be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas in her new home. Of course, she will bring her EU pet passport with her. For an adoption fee of 450 Euros, and only after a positive assessment, will you give Leonita a new life? Many thanks to Silvie S.! Your sponsorship was the start of a new life!

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Leonita hat ihr Zuhause gefunden! 44369 Dortmund. Vielen Dank an Silvie S.!

About Leonita

What life with Leonita looks like

Leonita is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Leonita, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Leonita?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Leonita on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Leonita if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Leonita already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Leonita isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Leonita and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
