Libby

Yorkshire Terrier Β· Female Β· Young Β· 2 years

Everyone meet our next resident…. Libby!πŸ’œ Libby was originally a stray and sadly no one came forward to claim her. Thankfully we had a foster ready to step inβ€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή This girl is a yorkie crossed with a shihtzu we think. She’s around 3/4 years old and a sweetheart. πŸ₯° She is a gentle girl and can be shy to start. She does quickly understand she’s safe. Currently she’s in foster with multiple other dogs without an issue.πŸ’– She was adopted but sadly returned this was due to their older dog suffering with sudden sight loss and Libby wanting to play. Which was resulting in arguments. She’s back in foster with multi dogs without an issue.🐢 At the vets she was a good girl and passed her healthcheck. She has now been microchipped, flead, wormed, vaccinated spayed. πŸ˜‡ She travels well in the car and is happy to be handled. Due to her type of fur she will need to be groomed regularly so please do consider this before applying.πŸ›πŸΎ We feel she would benefit from living with another dog who is balanced and neutered to help with her confidence. She could possibly live with dog savvy children too.🏑 Please share so Libby can find her forever home!πŸ™πŸΌ Remember to complete the form below if you’re interested in adoption;

About Libby

What life with Libby looks like

Libby is a young adult yorkshire terrier dog waiting at Almost Home Dog Rescue in North Wales.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Libby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Libby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Libby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Libby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Almost Home Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Libby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Libby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Libby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
