Lilly

Husky Β· Female Β· Adult Β· 5 years

Lilly is such a sweet girl who is missing her home comforts. She settles well in her kennel, so we think this would translate really well into home life. Lilly would prefer a family that are home for most of the day at first as she prefers to not be left alone for too long. She may also need a bit of reminding of her toilet training in a new environment but does her best to keep her space clean. Lilly would prefer a quieter home to suit her calmer nature, but would love an active home to keep her brain busy. She does have sensitive skin, so will need lifelong management of this with supplements. Lilly is an outdoorsy girl, so would love her own garden to potter around and lie down in. Lilly cannot wait to meet her forever family! Meet beautiful girl, Lilly! Lilly is a 5.5-year old Husky looking for her forever home. Lilly could live with a resident dog, pending a successful meet in the centre but mealtimes will need to be managed as she has guarded her food from other dogs before. Any children in the home should be of secondary school age and above, as she loves people but in typical Husky style, likes her independence too. Lilly is a really sweet-natured, calm girl with a wonderful temperament. She is mostly unbothered by dogs, so would be just as happy being the only dog in the home, but any doggy friends should be polite and calm. Lilly can be goofy and bouncy when seeing her friends, and absolutely loves a cuddle with her people. She loves her walks and adventures, where she can get all her sniffs in. She absolutely loves water and having a paddle, so would love an active family that are willing to take her out and about! Lilly loves her toys, but would prefer to be left alone when playing with them. We cannot wait for this gorgeous girl to find her forever home!

About Lilly

What life with Lilly looks like

Lilly is an adult husky dog waiting at Dogs Trust Cardiff in Cardiff.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Cardiff handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Cardiff will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lilly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Cardiff early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
