Rambo

Husky Β· Male Β· Adult Β· 6 years

Meet Rambo! He is a gorgeous boy with a heart full of love. Rambo is a very sweet affectionate lad who loves spending time outside and enjoying the world around him. He has so much to offer the right family and is looking for a home where he can truly thrive. Kennel life is incredibly stressful for Rambo. He struggles with being confined, often scratching and climbing the bars when he becomes overwhelmed. However, once he is out of his kennel, he relaxes enjoys his surroundings and is a very happy boy with his tail wagging like mad. Being returned to his kennel is particularly difficult for him, so he would benefit hugely from a home where he can feel safe, settled and secure. Rambo loves – long walks getting out and about, off-lead time in our secure compound where he can chase around with his toys, being brushed and enjoying a little pampering and spending time with people receiving lots of fuss and strokes. Rambo walks nicely on the lead, making him a lovely companion for someone who enjoys getting outdoors. As a Husky, he would need an active lifestyle filled with long walks, hikes, adventures and plenty of opportunities to explore. Rambo is looking for an active, loving home that understands his needs and can offer him time, exercise and the companionship he deserves. He will need a private secure garden where he can safely enjoy some off lead time as well as an adopter that is committed to keeping him mentally and physically stimulated. Most importantly, Rambo needs a home where he can feel relaxed and comfortable, away from the stress of kennel life. Rambo has socialised well with other dogs while in our care, so we feel he could potentially be rehomed with another dog of similar size following a successful meet and greet. As Rambo came into the home as a stray we have no previous history on him so would prefer any children in the home to be 14+ years.

About Rambo

What life with Rambo looks like

Rambo is a large adult husky dog waiting at Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home (Manchester) in Manchester.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible β€” a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rambo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rambo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home (Manchester) handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rambo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rambo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home (Manchester) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rambo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rambo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home (Manchester) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rambo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
