Our Lincoln was rescued as a baby by a family in Romania. Unfortunately, they overestimated their abilities…Lincoln grew and grew and was confined to a cage for most of its childhood. Here, the handsome male dog suffered greatly. He constantly tried to escape and even broke two of his canine teeth. The family simply had no time for Lincoln and did not understand what proper husbandry means for a growing male dog. He was rarely walked and not trained. When he was outside his cage, he managed to jump over fences, annoying the neighbors…an endless hamster wheel that has finally broken. Lincoln could travel to a foster home in Germany and hopes to find a loving family soon. Lincoln is currently around 4.5 years old and has a height of 70 cm and a weight of 50 kg. He is a friendly male dog, both to people and fellow animals – a playful and active powerhouse. He is compatible with other dogs. Only with strangers does he still have a great fear. Lincoln is a herding dog mix and we suspect he could also be a Kangal mix. He knows how to walk on a leash and enjoys cuddles from people very much. The big bear is playful and cuddly and enjoys these affections to the fullest. Unfortunately, in Romania, his ears and tail were docked as a puppy. As a herding dog, Lincoln, after settling into his new home, will also show these traits. One should therefore familiarize themselves with the characteristics of such a breed and consider whether the dog fits into the personal environment. Herding dogs are not city or office dogs. A large property that he can guard would be ideal for him. Since the territory of a herding dog extends as far as he can see, the property should be fenced. Herding dogs are independent personalities that require the owner to have the ability to deal with a smart, independent, large dog. They bring many wonderful traits. People who already have experience with herding dogs do not want any other breeds, as they, despite their thick skulls, are very loyal and faithful companions. Lincoln, eine arme Seele mit trauriger Vergangenheit! Unser Lincoln wurde als Baby von einer Familie in Rumänien gerettet. Leider überschätzten sie sich…Lincoln wuchs und wuchs und wurde seine Kindheit über viel in einen Zwinger eingesperrt. Hier litt der hübsche Rüde sehr. Ständig versuchte er auszubrechen und hat sich dabei auch zwei Eckzähne abgebrochen. Die Familie hatte einfach keine Zeit für Lincoln und verstand nicht, was artgerechte Haltung für einen großwerdenden Rüden bedeutet. Selten wurde mit ihm Gassi gegangen und auch erzogen wurde er nicht. Wenn er mal außerhalb seines Zwingers war, schaffte er es über Zäune zu springen, die Nachbarn beschwerten sich…ein ewiges Hamsterrad, dass nun endlich durchbrochen ist. Lincoln konnte in eine Pflegestelle nach Deutschland reisen und hofft nun, dass er bald eine liebe Familie findet. Lincoln ist aktuell ca. 4,5 Jahre alt und hat mit 70 cm und 50 kg eine stattliche Größe. Er ist ein freundlicher Rüde, sowohl zu Menschen als auch Artgenossen – ein verspieltes und aktives Kraftpaket. Er zeigt sich verträglich mit anderen Hunden. Nur bei fremden Menschen hat er noch große Angst. Lincoln ist ein Herdenschutzmix und wir vermuten, dass er auch ein Kangal-Mix sein könnte. Er kennt das Laufen an der Leine und genießt Streicheleinheiten von Menschen sehr. Der große Bär ist verspielt und verkuschelt und genießt diese Zuwendung in vollen Zügen. Leider hat man ihm in Rumänien schon als Welpe die Ohren und die Rute kupiert. Als Herdenschutzhund wird Lincoln, nachdem er sich in seinem neuen Zuhause eingelebt hat, diese Eigenschaften auch zeigen. Man sollte sich daher vorher mit den Eigenschaften einer solchen Rasse auseinandersetzen und auch überlegen, ob der Hund in das persönliche Umfeld passt. Herdenschutzhunde sind keine Stadt- oder Bürohunde. Toll wäre für ihn daher ein großes Grundstück, das er bewachen kann. Da das Territorium eines Herdenschutzhundes so weit reicht, wie er gucken kann, sollte das Grundstück eingezäunt sein. Herdenschutzhunde sind eigenständige Persönlichkeiten, die Konsequenz und Einfühlungsvermögen durch den Besitzer voraussetzen und die Fähigkeit, sich mit einem intelligenten, selbständig handelnden, großen Hund auseinandersetzen zu können. Sie bringen viele tolle Eigenschaften mit. Menschen, die bereits Erfahrung mit Herdenschutzhunden gemacht haben, wollen keine anderen Rassen mehr haben, da sie trotz ihres Dickschädels sehr treue und loyale Begleiter sind. Unser Lincoln ist kastriert, gechipt, geimpft, entwurmt und besitzt seinen EU-Heimtierausweis und kann nach positiver Vorkontrolle und gegen eine Schutzgebühr in sein eigenes Zuhause ziehen.
