Adopt Linnet

Mixed Breed · Female

Young Linnet was found on Wuppertálska street in Košice. Linnet is a small, brave turbo. She's always where something is happening. She loves toys, food, dogs, and of course people. Getting to know Linnet is very quick and unique. She immediately runs over and lets herself be petted, gives kisses and wags her tail so much that it's a miracle it hasn't fallen off yet. When it's time to move, she will go with you to the ends of the world, when it's time to rest, she'll lie calmly. She is playful and likes to play with a person and get excited. She likes toys, which she can also play with herself. A basic training and socialization would certainly benefit her. She gets along with dogs and female dogs, and likes to play with them. During regular walks she has hygienic habits, behaves politely and handling is trouble-free. An ideal home for Linnet is a house with access to the yard, but she will also be happy in an apartment. Suitable for an active person who will adequately occupy her body and mind. Also suitable for first-time dog owners and children.

Určite by jej prospel základný výcvik a socializácia. So psami a fenkami vychádza, rada sa s nimi hrá.

About Linnet

What life with Linnet looks like

Linnet is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at ÚVP Košice in Slovakia.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇰Adopting from Slovakia

Slovak rescue groups coordinate cross-border transport with European partners. Animals are chipped and vaccinated; sterilization is often included for adults and arranged post-adoption for puppies/kittens.

Frequently asked

Adopting Linnet, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Linnet?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ÚVP Košice handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Linnet on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Linnet if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ÚVP Košice will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Linnet already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Linnet isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ÚVP Košice early rather than rehoming privately; they know Linnet and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
