Adopt Lino

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

The name Lino means, among other things, "the strong lion." Currently, our shelter animal still appears small and fragile, but this will quickly change. Lino, who is currently waiting longingly in a foster home in Romania for the ticket to happiness, was placed in a box along with his siblings during a cold night and callously abandoned. The fluffball presents himself as a real dandy who meets his environment playfully and lovably. Naturally, he is occasionally a bit shy, but that changes quickly when Lino feels that he is liked or even loved. His future human or forever family should have experience with dogs, because Lino probably carries herding dog genes. Herding dogs are impressive and extraordinary companions, as they were originally bred to protect livestock such as sheep or goats from predators and other dangers and are absolutely dependent on mental and physical stimulation. In addition, Lino must be consistently trained. A house with a garden is an absolute must for this breed. The period of adolescence, which will begin in a few weeks or months, will present Lino and his environment with additional challenges, because during this necessary phase of hormonal changes, there may be disobedience or forgetfulness. Here, empathy and patience should be shown, because Lino needs the adolescent phase to start happily into adult life. The open-minded handsome heartbreaker likes other dogs quite a lot. Whether he can also be enthusiastic about cats is currently uncertain. However, it is certain that Lino is longing to finally arrive. He deserves it, like all our strays. May Lino with his lion's heart become your loyal companion? He can be rehomed through a foster home. Lino would be very happy about that. This dog will be rehomed together with the association Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. The double listing on both association websites and possibly advertisement portals serves to increase his visibility and thus find the right home for him faster. An exchange with the association takes place. Every inquiry about the dog is discussed directly and passed on. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

About Lino

What life with Lino looks like

Lino is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Arme Hundeseelen in Năsăud.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lino?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arme Hundeseelen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lino if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arme Hundeseelen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lino isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arme Hundeseelen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
