LIP

European Shorthair · Male · Kitten · 7 months

Status: Found Race: European Gender: Male Microchip: 967000010644020 Birthdate: 26/03/2026 Country: Belgium At the shelter since: 18/09/2026 Lip, a handsome cat with a history of wandering, finally dreams of a safe and warm home. Lip is a beautiful European cat who spent a few months wandering before arriving at the shelter. This life on the streets has made him quite timid, and he will need to be socialized. But behind his caution lies a cat who longs to believe in the kindness of humans. What we know about him: Lip is clean, which will make his installation easier. He seems to get along well with other cats: a feline companion could help him gain confidence. He probably tolerates solitude, although this remains to be confirmed, as he has never been alone at the shelter. His needs: a garden is not essential for Lip, and he should adapt easily to apartment life. What he needs most is patience, calm, and kindness. He will need time to get used to his new life, without being rushed, and to rejoice in each of his progress. After several months of wandering, contact with young children should be avoided, as it could frighten him. What we still don't know: we don't know how he reacts with dogs, nor how he tolerates cars and transportation. Our team can tell you more during your visit. Lip is waiting for the person who will finally offer him a safe and warm home. If his story touches you, thank you for contacting us ONLY by phone at 02 204 49 50, we will answer your questions and organize a meeting with him. Sometimes, it only takes a little time for a timid cat to become the most faithful of companions. Adoption is only possible with a "permit to keep an animal" for people residing in the Walloon Region.

About LIP

What life with LIP looks like

LIP is a kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Help Animals in Brussels.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting LIP, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about LIP?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Help Animals handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw LIP on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt LIP if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Help Animals will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is LIP already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if LIP isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Help Animals early rather than rehoming privately; they know LIP and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
