Lisa

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Lisa – a tender heart looking for her forever home. Lisa is a cheerful little girl – and yet, she carries a fate that no living being would wish upon. Only 18 months old, she spent 16 of those months on a heavy chain. A delicate soul like hers should be darting across meadows, playing with dog friends, or experiencing great adventures by the side of her humans. Instead, she sat lonely, sad, and without encouragement or love, bound day after day. But one day, Lisa found the courage to escape. On her way into the unknown, she met a kind-hearted neighbor who recognized her fate and asked us for help. So Lisa finally took the first step into a life full of hope. Today, she shows us how much joy, energy, and gentleness are in her. Lisa was born on 02.05.2024, is about 60 cm tall, and an incredibly loving, funny puppy. She becomes very attached to her humans and would love to give her big dog heart entirely to them – therefore, she would be happier as a single dog. For Lisa, we are looking for a loving, lively family that has plenty of time and attention for her. People who can show her how beautiful the world can be, who play with her, learn with her, laugh with her, and give her all the warmth she so long missed. Whoever opens their heart to Lisa will receive a loyal soul who will gratefully and lovingly enjoy her new life. Will you give Lisa the chance for a life full of love, security, and happiness? She will give you her big, loyal dog heart every day in return. The animals are described as they behave in the animal shelter or in the foster home. This behavior does not appear immediately upon arrival. Some react with nervousness at first to the new situation. Animals from the animal rescue all have a past that was mostly not nice or even cruel. This past cannot be shaken off overnight. They need time to be able to settle in and gain trust. Please be patient and give your animal the necessary time!

About Lisa

What life with Lisa looks like

Lisa is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina in Berlin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lisa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lisa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lisa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lisa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lisa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lisa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lisa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
