Lischen

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 11 years

Very sweet, tolerant, modest, people-oriented VIDEO Update 04/26 Lieschen has recovered very well and is showing only sweet behavior at her foster home. Every day she goes along to work with her foster family, where she has a fixed spot and spends most of her time sleeping there. Lieschen is extremely friendly toward all people. Dogs are no problem at all for her either. She can no longer manage long walks, but Lieschen absolutely loves shorter sniffing trips. Her leishmaniasis is currently well-controlled and needs to be monitored regularly. At her foster home, Lieschen can be visited and gotten to know. Lieschen came to us in June in a very poor condition. Her eyes were glued shut, and her body was emaciated. She had been living on an old factory site together with many other dogs. The dogs there are cared for as best as possible by animal welfare activists from the region. Lieschen tested positive for leishmaniasis and is now receiving treatment here with us. In addition, she has severe elbow dysplasia. Lieschen is a very cautious dog who wants to do everything right—as if she’s afraid of making a mistake. She is incredibly friendly and modest and absorbs every kind gesture. Her tail now wags when you speak to her, and you can see a smile on her face. We know that it’s almost impossible for Lieschen to find a home. She’s looking for a rural, single-story home where she can spend plenty of time in the garden. Long walks aren’t possible due to her elbow dysplasia. All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, and have an EU pet passport. They are tested for Mediterranean diseases according to their age. See our website for more information. Every dog we place makes room for one of those dogs who are still struggling to survive, starving and emaciated. PLACE OF STAY

AUFENTHALTSORT

About Lischen

What life with Lischen looks like

Lischen is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. in Greece.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lischen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lischen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lischen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lischen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lischen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lischen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lischen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
