Lizzy

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! The little Lizzy is simply adorable. With her fluffy fur, loving gaze, and gentle nature, she immediately wraps you around her paw. The white stripe on her chin and her white chest give her a cute, slightly mischievous look, which simply exudes charm. But behind her cute appearance lies a story that was unfortunately marked by too much early pain. Lizzy was found with an injury and was collected by our animal protectors. Her leg required surgery, and now the young female dog desperately needs the chance to heal properly. However, in the shelter, this is hardly possible. The small space, lack of movement, and limited opportunities for support unfortunately contribute more to the atrophy of her muscles rather than their healthy development. Especially for a young dog still in growth and development, this is simply not a good environment in the long term. Therefore, we urgently wish for Lizzy a loving foster home or, of course, a permanent home, so she can finally receive the peace, support, and care she needs now. Physiotherapeutic support or targeted muscle building would certainly benefit her and help her become stronger and more secure on her feet. Despite her current situation, Lizzy is not easily subdued. She shows herself as an incredibly loving, friendly, and compatible young female dog who greatly enjoys the company of humans. When she is outside, she searches for the closeness of her primary caregiver, stays in the vicinity of people, and loves every pat. With her soft fur, one simply wants to cuddle her and show her that life can also be beautiful. She also shows absolute compatibility and friendliness with other dogs. She brings a very gentle and pleasant nature overall. Lizzy is likely to remain of medium size and would be a great companion for many life situations. However, one must not forget that she has probably not experienced much so far. Life in the house, house training, leash walking, or the complete dog ABC are probably still completely new to her. New situations, environmental stimuli, and daily routines must be built up step by step and with a lot of patience. But Lizzy brings the best prerequisites for this, she is young, eager to learn, and open to growing together with her humans and exploring the world. With loving guidance, positive reinforcement, and the necessary time, she will certainly quickly understand many things and develop further. Especially a visit to a positively working dog training class would certainly make Lizzy happy, so she can gain security and learn everything that belongs to a relaxed dog life. Lizzy travels microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport to her new home. Due to her shortened tail, she unfortunately cannot be rehomed to Switzerland based on the current entry regulations. However, this does not affect her in her everyday life and does not limit her in any way. Will you give Lizzy the chance to finally heal outside the shelter and start a new life together with you? A huge thank you to Alexandra, who named Lizzy and thus gave her the chance to have a warm dog bed and a loving home. As of: 03.06.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 03.06.2026

About Lizzy

What life with Lizzy looks like

Lizzy is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lizzy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lizzy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lizzy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lizzy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lizzy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lizzy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lizzy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
