Support and Health Do I have any medical conditions? None Who I can live with Can I live with dogs? Yes Can I live with cats? Yes Can I live with small pets? Yes Additional information Like other small pets, they should be kept safely away from other animals in the home. As prey animals, they may feel threatened by the presence of other species such as cats and dogs. Family and environment What kind of family am I looking for? Some rabbits can really enjoy the companionship of humans and become very affectionate, other rabbits are more independent and prefer to keep to themselves with a nice routine. A family who can provide a safe environment with gentle and calm interactions can create beautiful bonds with their rabbits, helping them feel safe. Being a prey species and not enjoying being handled, they are often suited to families with older children. Due to Marshmallow being an older rabbit, she would benefit from a calm and quiet environment. What type of environment would suit me? Rabbits require lots of space to keep them fit, healthy and happy. The minimum space for a pair of rabbits is an area measuring 3m long x 2m wide x 1m high. This can be achieved using a predator proof run or aviary. In addition, they will need access to a sheltered area of at least 6 x 2 ft, such as a hutch, shed or Wendy house, which should be securely attached to or placed within the run. Rabbits will need to have 24-hour access to both the run and shelter. Discover the perfect care tips for rabbits in our care guide: Both Loki and Marshmallow are not big jumpers and tend to spend the majority of their time hiding under enrichment rather than on top. It is important to still provide them with lots of different levels so the option is there for them. This also provides them with ample covered areas to snuggle together. About Loki and Marshmallow Loki and Marshmallow are ready to become part of a loving family! Marshmallow definitely rules the roost! Although she is an older bunny, she has plenty of sass to make up for it. She is the boss and Loki knows it! They are a very well bonded pair who are often found snuggling together under a chair or table. Loki is more confident around humans than Marshmallow and will hop over to see what you are doing when you are in their unit. Marshmallow does tend to keep herself to herself, unless you have food, she will happily snatch a treat and hop off back to her favourite resting spot. Due to Marshmallow being older, we have noticed she is not keen on jumping onto the higher enrichment. However, loves to snooze under a well covered area. She did come into our care with sore hocks, we feel this may be due to her enjoying resting in similar positions and not being a super active girl. We have found that supplying her with softer bedding such as vet bedding in her favourite spots has helped with this and her hocks are now looking perfect! This may be something that could reoccur should she not have access to the softer resting areas in a new home. If you can give Marshmallow and Loki all the love in the world, plus some softer bedding.. please register your interest today!

About Loki and Marshmallow

What life with Loki and Marshmallow looks like

Loki and Marshmallow is a large senior rabbit waiting at Woodgreen Pets Charity in United Kingdom.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Loki and Marshmallow, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Loki and Marshmallow?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Woodgreen Pets Charity handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Loki and Marshmallow on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Loki and Marshmallow if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Woodgreen Pets Charity will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Loki and Marshmallow already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Loki and Marshmallow isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Woodgreen Pets Charity early rather than rehoming privately; they know Loki and Marshmallow and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
