Lola &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female

Lola is a six-year-old (as of September 2024) Malinois female, but she doesn't really fit the typical image of her breed. Of course, she is eager to learn, attentive, and loves playing with her favorite humans, but her nature is calm – and her favorite hobby is actually snuggling on the couch. Lola was stolen from a village near Sevilla. Some time later, she appeared emaciated and sad in Sevilla, where the friendly female dog boldly slipped into a residential home to ask for help. The animal-loving people who lived there informed the Arca about their sheltered companion. Lola's owner could be found, but he showed no interest in taking his dog back. Fortunately, a loving foster family found a home for the emaciated female dog, where she now waits in peace for a new chance. Lola has since fully blossomed, with glossy fur and sparkling eyes. The people who currently have her in their home are delighted to share how Lola proves to be a wonderful roommate. She loves children and other dogs, travels very happily and appropriately by car, walks excellently on a leash, and can already spend some time alone. Only cats, which our princess really dislikes – but that is not necessarily what one would expect from a proud Malinois. Lola is the perfect introduction for a novice to these athletic and highly energetic German Shepherds. Even though she is a very calm and balanced representative of the Belgians, Lola is looking for an active and sporty family, preferably someone who would like to work with her – whether for fun at dog sports or for the responsible task of trail running, Lola would be happy to be the partner of a motivated person. If you have fallen in love with our sporty Belgian, we look forward to hearing from you. Lola is only waiting to be adopted by her own family.

DE·Show original

About Lola &#8211

What life with Lola &#8211 looks like

Lola &#8211 is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lola &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lola &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lola &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lola &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lola &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lola &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lola &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
