Lola

English Bulldog · Female · Young · 1 year

Lola is looking for a home with loving and active adopters who can take her on sniffy adventures, who will take the time to help her settle in and give her all the love and attention she deserves. She is a friendly bean who could live with primary school children who are confident around larger dogs, who will play nicely with her and will give her space to rest when needed. Lola likes all of the attention to herself so would like to be the only dog in the home, she would be happy with polite and calm walking buddies who will help to socialise more. Lola is a clever girl, she already knows “sit”, “leave” and “paw”, she is eager to learn more especially if a tasty treat is on offer. Lola does settle nicely in the home so could be left for up to 4 hours, any leaving time would need to be built up slowly once she has had time to settle into her new home. Lola will need to meet her adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Gentle explorer Lola is a 1 year old Mastiff Cross who loves a sniffy adventure. She is a playful goofball who will run and pounce around after her toys, she likes anything that can be thrown but her absolute favourite is a football. This bundle of cuddles adores a fuss, she will lean on you for more and will happily climb into your lap not realising that probably won’t fit, she likes a gentle fuss all over, especially a back scratch. This beautiful lady is looking for her new home.

About Lola

What life with Lola looks like

Lola is a young adult english bulldog dog waiting at Dogs Trust Canterbury in Chestfield.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lola, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lola?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Canterbury handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lola on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lola if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Canterbury will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lola already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lola isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Canterbury early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lola and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
