Lonely/Finn

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 14 years

Lonely - the name holds true, but we're going to change that now! He came to a foster home in Germany as a puppy in late August 2011 and found a new family after some time. After 7 years, the email came, Lonely, now Finn, has to go, he has problems with his legs, will cause costs in the future and they can't and don't want to bear them - besides, they can no longer do him justice. He came to one of our foster homes as quickly as possible and was immediately examined and treated by a veterinarian. The result was as follows: He has arthritis in both knees of his hind legs and degenerative changes in his thigh bones. He is now so well adjusted with the daily administration of a 1/4 tablet of cortisone and a herbal painkiller that no impairment can be detected.

Pflegestelle: 54413 Grimburg Rasse: Mischling Geschlecht: Männlich, kastriert Geb.

About Lonely/Finn

What life with Lonely/Finn looks like

Lonely/Finn is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Casa Animalis in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lonely/Finn, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lonely/Finn?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Casa Animalis handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lonely/Finn on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lonely/Finn if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Casa Animalis will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lonely/Finn already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lonely/Finn isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Casa Animalis early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lonely/Finn and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
