💗 Lora 💗 JADR 📍 Location: in DE, Burghausen - always visitable 📅 Born: ca. 28.08.2021 ⚖️ Weight: ca. 6.5 kg 📏 shoulder height: ca. 35 cm 🩺 Health: vaccinated, microchipped, sterilized, EU pet passport present ✈️ Ready to travel: Yes Your Character 🐶 🐾 Gentle & sensitive - Lora is a delicate, quiet female dog who is initially cautious in new situations. 🐾 Happy & playful at home - In a safe environment, she shows her happy, playful side and enjoys playing with people. 🐾 Loyal & clean - She has quickly learned that her needs are met outside and reliably follows the house rules. 🐾 Reserved outdoors - Outdoors, she keeps a bit of distance and does not snuggle up on her own. 🐾 Compatible - She gets along excellently with other dogs. 🐾 Trustworthy - Raising and carrying her are not a problem. Her Story ✨ Our dear volunteer learned that two little friends were at the animal shelter and immediately took them to safety. An animal shelter is not a place for such little girls - at any time, something could have happened to them, as all the other dogs there were larger and stronger. At the beginning of winter, the local animal shelter received a report about two little puppies who had been hanging out near a school for days. Unfortunately, children can be cruel to the weaker: they threw stones, chased, and scared them. The two just wanted to be close, find food, and find a warm place to curl up. So, Lora and her friend Luma came together to a cold, dark, and damp animal shelter ☹️ They were described as very shy, fearful, and unapproachable. When Lora arrived at the foster home, she cowered panic-stricken in the back of the transport box - frightened and lost, with eyes full of fear that tugged at the heart. The first hug meant a lot of stress for her. But within a few days, she began to trust. She learned about touch, kind words, safety, and warmth - and visibly changed. From the scared little puppy, she became a calmer, more relaxed, and happier Lora. Her Dream Home 🏡 For Lora, we wish for a patient, gentle, and understanding family that gives her time to settle in and build trust. In a quiet, loving environment, she will grow into a wonderful companion. Lora is ready for her new beginning - she just needs a family forever that will never leave her and shows her that she is lovable - just as she is. ❤️🐾 Videos of Lora:

About Lora

What life with Lora looks like

Lora is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hund sucht Hütte in Austria.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hund sucht Hütte handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hund sucht Hütte will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hund sucht Hütte early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
