Adopt Lori

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 2 months

"I live in Switzerland," Lori is a friendly and curious puppy girl. The sweet Lori is also a sensitive little mouse. If she doesn't know something or if it overpowers or makes her unsure, she shows it with a sudden action. If she's engaged in something, she still wants to get to know it. Then she is very cautious, which shows that she has a gentle core. Therefore, Lori also needs a lot of quiet time, a safe retreat, so she can process her experiences. Lori knows children, she is house-trained, and she can already stay alone for a while. She generally gets along well with her fellow animals. However, she also needs help and time to get a handle on her overwhelming joy or excitement. We would therefore look for a more quiet home for Lori, without children and other animals. Lori's story: Packaged in a box, Lori and her siblings were deposited at the entrance of the emergency shelter Hundehilfe Motril/Spain. They were about 2 months old and initially very shy. After a while, they had settled in quite well there and greeted visitors with joy. Lori came to Switzerland at the age of 4 months. She spent the first months in a loving environment, where she also learned a lot. Now, Lori is looking for her forever home, where she can continue to learn and grow with patience and love. And where she is welcomed and loved despite her small "construction site." Breed: mixed breed (parents not known) Gender: female Born: around December 15, 2024 Height: around 62cm Weight: around 22 kg Origin: Spain Place: our area

About Lori

What life with Lori looks like

Lori is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Hundehilfe Motril in St. Gallen.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lori, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lori?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundehilfe Motril handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lori on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lori if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundehilfe Motril will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lori already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lori isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundehilfe Motril early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lori and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
