Lotte

European Shorthair · Female · Kitten · 2 months

Lotte came to us with her siblings when she was just a few days old. She was bottle-fed and is therefore very open to people. She is the group's explorer and the most courageous. Typical of kittens, she is very curious and playful. She and her siblings are very fearless, they know dogs, cats and everyday noises. Since the four are so fearless, we are looking for a home for them in apartment living with a secured balcony or similar. We can also imagine that you can teach the dwarfs to walk on a leash and take them on trips. All our kittens live in groups so they have the opportunity to develop well on a social level. Especially with kittens, fellow cats play an important role. That's why we only want to place Lotte with another kitten or a cat already living in the household of a similar age (max. 1 year). Lotte is not yet spayed. This should be done at the age of about 9 months.

About Lotte

What life with Lotte looks like

Lotte is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at BMT Tierheim Arche Noah Stuhr in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lotte, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lotte?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. BMT Tierheim Arche Noah Stuhr handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lotte on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lotte if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — BMT Tierheim Arche Noah Stuhr will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lotte already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lotte isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with BMT Tierheim Arche Noah Stuhr early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lotte and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
