Adopt Lotte

Unknown

Lotte was rehomed twice before and was given as an unwanted birthday present during the last attempt at rehoming. So we decided that Lotte can "live" in the animal shelter until we find a permanent home for her. Our dear Lotte has her own mind and sometimes bites, but only when she just doesn’t feel like it 😅. Apart from her mood swings, Lotte is an extremely nice and playful cat. She loves to chat, enjoys sunny spots, and is passionate about hunting. We are looking for a home in a similar environment to ours (rural/farm area), where she can still go on her walks – she is used to having a cat flap. Very small children should not be present. Her current health check-up was good, except for her already known digestive issues. We are currently trying to get these under control (not so easy in an animal shelter with many cats around). Before her move, she will also get a new dental cleaning. She can be visited and stroked by potential interested parties, of course only if it is Lotte’s mood at the moment 😜. Do you think you are the right person for Lotte or would you like to get to know her better? Then contact the animal shelter Wörgl: 0664 – 849 5351 t -> Back to the cat overview. Interested? About Lotte

What life with Lotte looks like

Lotte is a medium-sized adult cat waiting at Tierschutzverein für Tirol in Innsbruck.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Note from the shelter: Multiple failed adoptions - needs stable, patient home

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lotte, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lotte?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein für Tirol handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lotte on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lotte if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein für Tirol will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lotte already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lotte isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein für Tirol early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lotte and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
