Lotti

Mixed Breed · Female

Today we would like to introduce to you one of our older residents. She is a real individual, somewhat independent, but at the same time a loving and affectionate dog. Lotti was born in June 2014 and came to us four years ago from the Ozdi municipal pound. We don't know exactly what she went through before coming to us, but it is certain that her mouth was once tied with a wire, and she still has the mark on her beautiful face today. Her past left its mark on the first meeting, Lotti did not behave very ladylike, but fortunately we have long since moved past this and she has become much more gentle over the years. However, she is not the kind of dog that will just follow anyone without question. She has an enchanting, yet extremely determined personality, a little bit of pepper, but in a very determined way. Therefore, it is important that she finds a firm owner who will tell her off immediately if she raises her nose unnecessarily. She likes to lie on your lap, sleep in the bed with the owner, run around with friends. She can really relax in the hands of someone who spoils her, but the process of building trust has its own steps. A sign of her trust is when she allows you to stroke her nose, where the scars are - she does not tolerate this at the beginning of the relationship and shows her disapproval with growling. We would like her to find an owner who can be with her almost every hour of the day. In our best dreams, we imagine an elderly aunt or uncle beside her, whom she can happily follow, and on whose lap she can nap during the news, with whom she can walk around the neighborhood or help tend the garden, but who will also live in the apartment with her. At the same time, the owner needs to be consistent and firm, because even small dogs can grow up on top of their human. We can recommend her to another dog, but not with a small child, as the two sides would not be able to communicate properly. We are very hopeful for a miracle, that the phone rings for Lotti and we find that perfect companion who accepts this wonderful dog's extremely unique personality. We await your call on the number __PHONE0__.

Szeret ölben feküdni, ágyban a gazdival aludni, nagyokat futkározni a haverokkal.

About Lotti

What life with Lotti looks like

Lotti is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Luca Kutyamenedék in Hungary.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lotti, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lotti?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Luca Kutyamenedék handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lotti on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lotti if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Luca Kutyamenedék will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lotti already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lotti isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Luca Kutyamenedék early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lotti and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
