adoption requirements adoption process Request this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Request this cat now! Lottie – calm female cat looking for a relaxed home. She is a five-year-old female cat with a very balanced character. Lottie comes from a very difficult environment. A retired man kept over 30 cats, but had no financial means to care for them properly. After numerous complaints from the neighbors about odors and trash, the situation was discovered by the police. The cats were of different ages and in poor condition. The man tried his best to care for the animals, but could no longer provide for their needs and eventually reached out to our association for help. Lottie also had feline calicivirus, which was successfully treated. In terms of personality, Lottie is rather independent and reserved. She is not an overly affectionate cat, but enjoys her peace and her own rhythm. In a stable, loving environment, her closeness to people may develop further. Lottie prefers to spend her time sleeping, relaxing, sunbathing, and enjoying warm places and soft blankets. Lottie radiates much calmness and is well suited for a quiet home. Lottie is compatible with other cats and should not be kept as a single cat. Contact with dogs has not been tested. She will only be rehomed in suitable for apartment living, without outdoor access.

About Lottie

What life with Lottie looks like

Lottie is a medium-sized adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lottie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lottie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lottie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lottie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lottie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lottie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lottie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
