Unfortunately, Lulu wasn’t either. The little Shih Tzu was recently seized by the police after attentive residents noticed children dragging her through the streets on a nylon leash. Previously, this tiny pup, only about 5–6 months old, had already been wandering alone in the village for days. Thanks to the quick action of a brave resident and the police, Lulu is finally safe. And you know what’s most beautiful about it? Lulu hasn’t let anyone take away her joy of life. She’s a cheerful little whirlwind—always in a good mood, curious, and endowed with a charm that can make even the grumpiest morning person smile. Typical of Shih Tzus, she loves being close to her people, enjoys attention, and loves accompanying her family everywhere. At the same time, there’s a little clown inside her who regularly brings laughter with her funny ideas and adorable facial expressions. Visually, Lulu is simply irresistible: her soft, fluffy coat, big dark button eyes, and sweetly innocent face melt hearts at first sight. She looks like a little stuffed animal—but she’s a real puppy with plenty of mischief in her head. Even though Shih Tzus aren’t marathon runners, they still need species-appropriate activities. Lulu loves varied walks, scent games, little brain teasers, and of course, lots of quality time with her people. She wants to explore the world, learn new things, and simply feel like she belongs. For Lulu, we wish for a home that shows her how wonderful a dog’s life can be—with patience, security, and people who’ll never let her go again. She should never have to experience being treated carelessly again. Instead, we wish her a life full of cuddles, adventures, safety, and love. Maybe you’re exactly the person Lulu has been waiting for her whole little life. Whoever gives this charming little pup a home won’t just get a dog—they’ll gain a loyal friend, a little comedian, and a heart on four paws ready to love unconditionally. .fusion-body .fusion-button Interested in adopting? About Lulu

What life with Lulu looks like

Lulu is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Nordic Strays e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lulu, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lulu?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nordic Strays e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lulu on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lulu if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nordic Strays e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lulu already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lulu isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nordic Strays e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lulu and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
