Luna

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Superstar Luna, bouncy, bright and energetic girl is ready for her new home! Luna has previously lived in a home and therefore has all the basics in place, while with us at Battersea Brands Hatch she has shown to have some great social skills with other dogs, so she has potential to live with another dog that can both play with her and help guide her when its time to relax. If not living with another dog Luna will enjoy meeting and greeting other dogs on walks, so she can continue to practise her social skills. When it comes to people, Luna can be a little unsure at first and may need some patience as she gets to know you, however, with time and understanding, she is capable of forming strong bonds and becoming a loyal and loving friend. Her ideal owner will be happy to go at her pace and support her as she builds confidence. Although she has not previously lived with children, Luna has been around visiting children, but due to her worried side and reactions towards people when uncomfortable, Luna would prefer to live with adults only or much older children, particularly those who understand and respect dog body language and are happy to be involved in her on-going training and progress. She would benefit from having a secure private garden to explore, play in and maintain her house training. This space would be a great place to build on her recall. She’s an active girl who loves to explore, so regular exercise and walking will keep her fit and healthy and stimulated. If you feel you have a home to offer Luna, Please do get in touch as per below: If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Luna, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest. tch for the dog in question.

About Luna

What life with Luna looks like

Luna is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Luna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Luna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Luna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Luna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Luna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Luna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Luna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
