Maggie, 1308 Tage in der Perrera

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Maggie, a mixed breed female dog, approximately 50 cm tall and weighing around 23 kg, was born on December 15, 2019. She is friendly with children and compatible with other dogs and cats, but her compatibility with cats needs to be tested. She is spayed. According to the veterinarian, she is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and has a positive test result for Leishmaniasis and negative results for other diseases. Maggie comes from a private animal shelter in Spain, which is supported by many volunteers. The dogs live together in small groups. Maggie spent 1,308 days in the Perrera! Nobody asked for her. In September 2020, Maggie developed skin problems and two weeks later, her entire body was covered in injuries. The staff knew it was something serious and asked other animal welfare colleagues for help. They searched for a place with a lot of experience, patience, and love. But nobody wanted to take care of Maggie. So, Maggie was taken to a boarding house that has the potential to be a good foster home! On October 6, 2020, Maggie left the Perrera and went directly to the veterinarian. She was on the brink of death and had severe Leishmaniasis and a severe skin infection. The first two weeks were a success. She lost 7 kg and all her hair. Her whole body was full of pus. Maggie needed many medications, injections, skin baths every two days, many vitamins, Omega-3, good food, and above all a quiet place without stress! After three months, Maggie slowly began to recover. She gained weight and her hair started to grow. Her condition improved day by day. After such a long and difficult time in the Perrera and boarding house, Maggie has not had much education and is not very socialized with other dogs. But now she is ready to take on the challenge. She needs a family that is willing to work with Maggie and give her the next step in her life, a real home. She is very friendly with people and can be the perfect companion dog. And we are sure that she will have four-legged friends with the right family!! Apply at www.pfotenhilfe-sachsen.de
