Magpie

Greyhound · Unknown

Magpie🪶 With her striking black and white coat, Magpie is certainly a hound who catches your eye! But it’s her lovely personality that really makes her shine. This beautiful girl has all the makings of a little treasure, with a gentle, loving nature and a wonderfully calm approach to life. Despite being a younger girl, she has a surprisingly laid-back side and is already showing us what a delightful companion she could be.Magpie is a naturally curious little lady who enjoys having a good nose around and taking in everything happening around her. She’s been settling into life with us beautifully, approaching new experiences with confidence and taking everything in her stride. She’s certainly not one to let a little adventure ruffle her feathers! Now, you might expect a tall girl like Magpie to take up plenty of room, but don’t be fooled! This clever girl has mastered the art of curling herself up into the tiniest little ball. Her favourite place to be is close to her humans, soaking up all the cuddles and affection she can get. She’s a real cuddle collector and we’re sure she’ll have no trouble gathering a whole lifetime’s worth of love in her new home! She’s also been showing off her clever side, successfully conquering the stairs like an absolute star! It’s lovely to see her confidence growing as she discovers more about the world around her.Magpie has been enjoying meeting our lovely volunteers, including people of different ages, and has been making a wonderful impression on everyone she meets. Her gentle and friendly nature has really stood out to us. We think she could potentially share her home with respectful older school-aged children, subject to a successful introduction, of course. As we’re still getting to know her, we’ll continue to learn more about the things that make this special girl tick.Magpie may still be spreading her wings and finding her feet with us, but she’s already proving to be quite the little catch! She’s not interested in collecting shiny trinkets or building a nest full of treasures. All this lovely girl is searching for is a cosy sofa, a loving family and somewhere she can finally call home. She is ready to swoop into someone’s heart! REHOME Magpie🪶 SITEMAP | PRIVACY POLICY | T's & C's | WEBSITE DONATED BY 2D © Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue 2026 |

About Magpie

What life with Magpie looks like

Magpie is a large adult greyhound dog waiting at Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Magpie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Magpie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Magpie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Magpie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Magpie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Magpie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Magpie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
