adoption requirements adoption process Inquire about this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Inquire about this dog now! One look is all it takes: the Husky in about 2-year-old Mala is unmistakable – in both looks and temperament. She is full of joy for life, very playful, and at the same time extremely friendly and pleasant to be around. She actively seeks human contact and visibly enjoys any form of attention. With her open and cheerful manner, she is sure to enrich the lives of her future people and make them a little more colorful and special. For Mala we wish for active people who understand her needs and can meet them. Ideally, they already have dog experience, preferably with Nordic breeds. Huskies are independent in character, but at the same time very clever, curious, and eager to learn. Mala needs plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and above all a close bond with her people. Whether it's shared activities, long walks, or mental work – she will join in enthusiastically. With a shoulder height of about 50-55 cm and a weight of around 22 kg, our mixed-breed girl has an athletic, elegant build. Her bright, crystal-blue eyes are typical of the breed – and simply stunningly beautiful. Unfortunately, we know very little about Mala's past. She was abandoned together with her three puppies Stups, Shorty, and Remo and left to fend for themselves. We assume that she has not known life indoors so far and still needs to learn basic things such as house-training, staying alone, or walking calmly on a leash. Our Mala gets along well with other dogs and lives harmoniously with them in a Romanian shelter. Cats and other small animals should not live in her immediate environment, as she is not compatible in this area; a breed-typical hunting instinct likely plays a role here. A home with a garden would be nice, but is not a must, as long as she is sufficiently exercised and mentally stimulated. After a positive Who will turn Mala's story into a true happy ending? A foster home would also be so valuable. Thank you, Muriel, for taking on her name sponsorship. As of: 03.05. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Mala

What life with Mala looks like

Mala is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
