Manna - Senior Alert

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Manna arrived to us in a questionable condition, with her skin really bad, many wounds and scabs, severely overweight and a massive tumor/growth hanging from her belly. It was clear that she has not been wondering around the streets like that, and that she had been abandoned to a gas station in San Pedro. What Manna has been through, we do not know, but her body does not tell a story of a sweet, loving life on a sofa in the arms of family. After some baths and good food, her fur is silky smooth, velvety grey. Manna is very cheerful, playful and loves human attention. She is also very photogenic and looks great an all photos! When it's time to for a walk or to do something together, she starts wiggling and "galloping" around as much as her overweight body allows. She loves to play with humans, and of course, she very very much loves snacks - this pleasure is at the moment not available for her, because she must lose weight. Manna seems not to hear too well, we are not sure if she is completely deaf or can still hear something. Also her eyesight is not perfect anymore, and her eyes are going a bit grey, but she can still see the snacks, so she still sees enough! Manna walks very nicely on the leash and is really a pleasure to be around. She does not liked to be locked up alone in a small closed space (maybe she was kept in a crate alone), and then she cries, but as long as she can wonder around the area, then she is very happy and low maintenance. In the shelter, she lives in the "entry area", because the area has a patio that looks towards the yard of the shelter, so she sees the people and people see her - like this she is happy. We believe it will not be a problem for her to stay alone at home calmly, as long as she can freely walk around the apartment or the house, and not be locked up in a crate at any point of time unnecessarily Manna's tumor will be surgically removed, and she has also been checked for metastasis (cancer) in her lungs, but none has been identified. Considering her age and general body status, for sure she will have some health issues, this has to be taken into account for senior dogs, but she is so lovely and cheerful, that a few health concerns will be forgotten in the light of her smile. Manna would like to be the only canine Queen in her forever home. Her shoulder height is 50cm. All of our seniors are looking for forever homes or forever fosters. The shelter will always be available for medical & behavioral support for seniors in their retirement homes.

About Manna - Senior Alert

What life with Manna - Senior Alert looks like

Manna - Senior Alert is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Triple A Marbella in Marbella.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee. Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Manna - Senior Alert, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Manna - Senior Alert?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Triple A Marbella handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Manna - Senior Alert on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Manna - Senior Alert if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Triple A Marbella will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Manna - Senior Alert already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Manna - Senior Alert isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Triple A Marbella early rather than rehoming privately; they know Manna - Senior Alert and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
