Margret

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Margret - young mixed-breed female dog wants to discover the world Margret is one of six sisters who were taken in together at our Bulgarian partner animal shelter. Now she hopes to move soon into a loving home or foster placement where she can settle down and grow up in peace. The little dog shows herself friendly, open and curious. She is playful, social when interacting with other dogs and likes to orientate herself towards them. She loves petting and approaches new experiences with interest and puppy charm. We are looking for people who enjoy accompanying a young dog step by step into life. She still has everything to learn that is important in everyday life - like house training, being left alone, driving in the car and safely exploring her environment. With patience, calmness, clear guidance and positive reinforcement she will develop well and grow into a reliable companion. Margret wants to be promoted age-appropriately and discover her surroundings with her humans. It is also not excluded that parts of a livestock guardian dog are involved. Therefore, interested parties should familiarize themselves with the breed-typical characteristics. A rural home with securely fenced garden would be well suited. Who wants to give Margret a home or accompany her as a foster placement on her way into life? Adopting an animal from a shelter always means taking on special responsibility and can also become a challenge. The dogs bring a backpack with past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to settle into their new lives. If you are seriously interested in adopting Margret, please contact the responsible mediator of SALVA Hundehilfe. We would also be very happy about the provision of a foster placement.

About Margret

What life with Margret looks like

Margret is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Margret, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Margret?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Margret on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Margret if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Margret already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Margret isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Margret and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
